Been there, loved it. As soviets occupied Lithuania, they worked hard to remove new crosses, and bulldozed the site at least three times, also tried to flood it. And ,as I remember, those crosses aren't for luck, its a monument for rebels who died fighting with Russians for independence as no bodies could be found..
